Steve is my favorite snapchat friend and an excellent trivia teammate! Congratulations on 35 years.

Steve started teaching my dad, Rick, to carve. These pictures are from a great class the museum held at Fogtown Brewery, in Ellsworth, Maine. It was a perfect venue and a great afternoon for us - my dad and I are both fans of carving and of good breweries. Steve is an excellent teacher, and the loon that he helped my dad to carve travels with him everywhere on the dashboard of his car now.

Growing up, my family would come to Southwest Harbor for a week every summer for our family vacation. One year, we had a quite rainy week, and had to spend a lot of time indoors. This was probably about 22 years ago or so, I was around nine or ten years old. We came to the Gilley Museum and Steve had a carving class or demonstration of some kind going on (I don't know exactly, I was pretty small). I ended up spending most of the afternoon carving a bird - I think a duck of some kind or a loon. I was not the most patient child, and my parents were really impressed with how drawn in I was, and also how patient Steve was with me. I still have the carving I made that day it it does really resemble something.
