Carver, John T. Sharp's Curious Wren won the 2003 Best in World Interpretive Wood Sculpture at the Ward World Championship held in Ocean City Maryland. It is on loan to the Gilley Museum from the Collection of the Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art , Salisbury University, Salisbury, Maryland. Visit the Gilley Museum through October 14th to discover why Sharp and co-exhibitors, Larry Barth and Tan Brunet are acknowledged masters of their distinctive styles of bird carving. From black walnut honed into an entire scence to decoys so soft they fool human eyes into believing they are feathered to birds that look as if they would escape if not enclosed in a case.
